Personal profile
Professor Sheng Bin was awarded the Ph. D. of economics at the Institute of International Economics, School of Economics, Nankai University in 1999. Now he is the professor and Ph. D. student supervisor of international economics at the Nankai University. He is also the senior research fellow of the Center for Transnationals’ Study and APEC Study Center, Nankai University, and vice chief-editor of Nankai Economic Studies. He was the senior visiting scholar of the U. S. Fulbright Foundation during 2008-2009, and visiting fellow of the EU-China Higher Education Co-operation Program at Copenhagen Business School during 1999-2000. He is also assuming the executive member of China’s Society of World Economy, vice secretary of China’s University Association of International Trade Studies, and other academic positions. His major research fields include international trade, Asia-Pacific economy and international political economics. He was awarded the Outstanding Young Fellow Scholarship by the Chinese Ministry of Education, China’s Ann Tse Kai International Trade Research Prize, Research Award of Dr. Henry Fok Education Foundation, and the Chairman Prize of the Chinese Academy of World Economy. He has more than 20 publications in the Journal of Social Science in China, Economic Research Journal, China Economic Journal, Journal of World Economy and other key journals. His book, The Political Economy of China’s Foreign Trade Policy, was honored the “Chinese Outstanding Ph. D. Thesis” by the Chinese Ministry of Education and Degree Commission of the State Council in 2001.
