On June 15th, 2011, Symposium for Investment and Management Issues in China Faced by Retailers and Wholesalers was hold in Beijing. The symposium was co-organized by the state Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and the Institute of International Economics at Nankai University (NKIIE).  Professor Ge Shunqi and Dr. Li lei from NKIIE attended the symposium as key-note speakers.

Besides officials from MOFCOM and scholars from various research institutes, a couple of foreign firms are present at the meeting, including Chia Tai Group (Thailand), RT-MART (China Taiwan), TESCO (Great Britain), Wal-Mart (USA), CR Vanguard (China Hongkong), and Carrefour (France). Domestic enterprises include: Jinkelong, Chaoshifa, Lianhua, Yonghui, Renrenle, Shidai, and Wumei.

 The main topics include: 1) The situation of investment and management in China and the development strategy in the future; 2) Individual company’ market possession and its influences on Chinese retail and wholesale industry; 3) Domestic competition environment and problems existed for retail and wholesale industry; 4) Related policy.
