Center for Transnationals’ Studies hosted the Seventh International Investment Forum
The seventh International Investment Forum, hosted by China Society of World Economies, Center for Transnationals’ Studies of Nankai Univeristy and Nankai Institute of International Economics, was held at Yunnan Normal University, on March 23-25, 2018.
This Forum was held under the theme of “International Direct Investment and Chinese Economy High-Quality Development”. Prof Guoming Xian, vice president of China Society of World Economies and director of the Center for Transnationals’ Studies, delivered the opening statements. The vice principle of Yunnan Normal University Wenli Ding made a welcome speech. The general secretary of China Society of World Economies Binhong Shao hosted the opening session.
During the keynote presentation session, around the topics of “effective use of investment for achieving high-quality development”, “U.S.-China economic and trade relationship outlook”, “’Belt and Road Initiative’ international industrial capacity cooperation”, “Overseas Chinese Economy and Trade zones development”, experts provided engaging presentations. In the sub-forums over 20 scholars from across universities and colleges shared uncommon opinions on the issues around four themes of “direct investment theory and policy analysis”, “the frontier of foreign direct investment”, “the behavior of firms’ direct investment analysis” and “international investment and trade”.
This forum provided a stage for an extraordinarily exchange of opinions among scholars, experts and professors from a wide variety of fields. The meaningful outcome of this meeting is active in promoting the patterns of opening up formation of Chinese economy
During the meeting, Prof. Guoming Xian, Prof. Bin Sheng, and Prof. Shunqi Ge have given interviews to major medias including caixin.com, China Business Network, China Business Times, China Financial and Economic News, and Phoenix New Media.
