This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Weizao Teng, a famous economist, educator, and old president of Nankai University. On May 6, 2017, Dapeng Wei, the secretary of the CPC Committee of Nankai University, Ke Gong, President, and dozens of colleagues, students and descendants of Weizao Teng from all over the country sat together in the School of Economics. Through a forum, everyone commemorated this beloved and permanent old principal who wrote the annals of Nankai's history and cherished his life's contribution to saving the country and governing the country through education.

It is reported that when Mr. Teng’s children learned that the school was holding this commemorative event, they sent a letter to the Institute of International Economics of Nankai University, “My father has worked in Nankai for most of his life and devoted all his energy to Nankai University, especially to the economics subject of Nankai. His long-cherished wish is to do his best to work with the teachers and students of the school to run Nankai better. We are delighted to see that this wish of my father is in the new generation. With the efforts of Nankai people, it is gradually realized."
